FAQs

Questions frequently asked about East Coast Bays Doctors.

There is parking onsite but please make sure you do not block anyone in or park on the grass out the front.  If onsite parks are full, please park outside KFC and the block of shops nearby.

Please see our fees tab.  Our standard fees are for a 15 minute appointment.  There may be additional charges for additional services, extended appointments, procedures and materials used.  If you need more than 15 minutes with the doctor please phone for an extended consultation.

Please refer to the home pagePlease attend Shorecare Urgent Clinics – 74 Taharoto Road, Takapuna or 948 East Coast Road, Northcross Phone 09 486 7777.  You could also phone Healthline for advice on 0800 611 116. If it’s a medical emergency please ring 111.

You can request through the patient portal or phone 09 478 9600 and press 2 for the prescription line. It is our practice policy to review our patients on regular prescribed medication every 6 months

Providing a repeat prescription can involve work by a receptionist, a nurse and your doctor.  This provides an integrity and assurance of ‘Best Practice’.

Our doctors or nurses will contact you if your test results are abnormal.  We do not routinely contact you with normal results but you are welcome to ring our nurses on 09 478 9600 and press 3 for a nurse if you would like to discuss any results you may have.  You can also review your results through our patient portal.

Please call 09 478 9600 and press 1 to speak with the receptionist.  They may be able to reschedule your appointment or check to see if the doctor will have time to see you if only a couple of minutes late.  A ‘Did Not Attend’ fee will be incurred if you fail to attend.

We strive to provide the best service we can but if you do feel unhappy with the service or treatment you have received from us we would really like to know.  It is our experience that most concerns can be resolved to everyone’s satisfaction by talking to the Practice Manager or to your GP.  Please do not hesitate to talk to us about any issues that are concerning you and if you feel the matter needs further investigation we encourage you to provide full details of your complaint in writing to us as soon as possible.  Reception can provide you with a Complaints form or our email address if that is preferred.  We will do our best to resolve in a timely manner.

We do our best to keep to appointment times.  However, our priority is to give each patient the attention they need and it is often difficult to anticipate how long this will take.  Sometimes the doctors have to look after someone urgently or liaise with the hospital before they can see you.  Please understand and be kind to our staff when asking about waiting time.

This would be very difficult to predict.  A doctor may be running late but then have a cancellation and get back on time quickly.

We will encourage you to bring a support person if you wish or feel more comfortable.

Please go to enrolment tab to see if you are eligible for enrolment.

It is a Ministry of Health requirement that we have a copy of all our patients passport and visa (if not a NZ or Australian passport) copies on their records.  This is to verify that you meet eligibility status and we have all the correct details for you.  These are kept confidentially on your medical record.
